How do I sign up?
Signing up is easy!
Simply create a MoMA Design Store account by entering your name, email and password. It’s free to join and you will automatically be signed up to receive emails with access to bonus birthday points, early access to new designs and points back for every dollar spent. If you have shopped with MoMA Design Store and have a MoMA Design Store account, you have already been enrolled in our Rewards program so you can kick back, sign in, and start earning points!
What are the advantages of joining?
Our Rewards program is a tiered program that allows you to earn more perks the more you engage with us. You receive Rewards points for each purchase, that can then be redeemed towards future purchases.
You also earn points for sharing with friends, following us on social media, writing product reviews, and even by receiving bonus points to celebrate your birthday! In addition to earning points, you’ll have the chance to earn early access to launches, promotions, events and more. You can view the full list of perks on our Rewards page.
Account
I already have an account. Do I need to create a new one to earn rewards?
If you have a MoMA Design Store account, you have been enrolled in Rewards. Just log in at store.moma.org to see your Rewards balance.
For anyone who is new to MoMA Design Store you can enroll in the Rewards program by creating a store.moma.org account.
To earn Rewards for in-store purchases, give the store associate your email address when checking out and you will earn points for the purchase. In order to redeem existing Reward points you will need to create an account.
Where can I find all of my Rewards account info?
The Rewards page is your roadmap to all points and perks. You can access all your information by logging in and visiting your personalized Rewards page.
Will I receive points for purchases I made prior to creating my Rewards account?
Points begin for purchases made after Jan 23, 2023. You will only see points for purchases made after creating your Rewards account.
What if I have an old email address or multiple email addresses and want to combine my accounts and Points?
Contact us and our team will be happy to assist you with merging your accounts.
Does it cost anything to begin earning points?
Our Rewards program is free and available to all customers! Make sure to visit your Rewards page to get started.
Earning & Redeeming
How do I accumulate points on my purchases?
Entry Level “Enthusiasts” earn 1 point for every $1 spent
Mid Level “Connoisseurs” earn 1.5 points for every $1 spent
Top Level “Ambassadors” earn 2 points for every $1 spent
What are other easy ways to earn points?
For starters, each customer gets points by creating an account and joining the Rewards program. Aside from earning points through purchases, you can add your birthday to your account to earn points, leave us a review, or like us on Facebook and Instagram.
Points are given to Verified Buyers - reviewers who have confirmed purchases with MoMA Design Store. If you have not purchased an item from store.moma.org or in store, you will not earn points for a review. It will typically take up to 30-days to receive points for writing a review.
Higher tiers in the Rewards program will earn points at a quicker rate, for example a Connoisseur earns 1.5 points for every $1 spent, so spend $150 and you'll have 225 points in your account!
How do I redeem my points?
If you have points available to redeem they will show up in your personalized Rewards page.
If you are purchasing online, login to your account, head to checkout and you can select your redemption amount, based on available points, to apply towards your purchase. At this time point redemption is not available if you pay using ShopPay or redeeming another promo code.
In-store, scan the Rewards QR Code, Login to your account and choose your redemption option. Show the associate at check-out your available coupon code.
How do points convert to dollars?
150 points = $5 dollars.
Points convert to dollars automatically in your account and then you can apply the dollars towards future purchases. For every 150 points, you receive $5.
Higher tiers in the program earn more points at a quicker rate. For example, as an Enthusiast, you will earn 1 point for every dollar you spend. So, if you spend $150, you'll earn 150 points = $5 dollars.
When you move up to become a Connoisseur you will be earning points 1.5x as fast, For example. Ambassador will earn 2x as fast, earning $10 dollars on a $150 purchase.
The maximum redemption value per order is 1500 points that equals $50.

Are my MoMA member benefits combinable with Rewards?
Yes! When redeeming Rewards points toward a purchase, this can be combined with the member daily discount of 10% and during Member Shopping Days. Additionally, as a MoMA member you’ll receive free shipping on orders over $35. (Terms & Conditions apply).
Can my points be exchanged or cashed out for actual currency?
No, points do not have a cash value, points cannot be cashed out and can only be converted to Rewards to use with MoMA Design Store purchase.
Why didn't I earn points on my purchase?
There are two reasons why you may not have been awarded points for your purchase. First, in order to award you points, we need to know that you are a MoMA Design Store Rewards participant when you make a purchase.
Second, special promotional offers will have defined eligibility and qualification requirements, which must be met to earn points under those promotional offers.
Program Limitations
Is there a limit to how many points I can earn?
No, that’s the best part about being a Rewards customer! You will always have an opportunity to earn more points by shopping with us, engaging with us online, and through seasonal sales.

Why are orders with gift cards excluded from earning points?
Any transactions involving a gift card as tender will not earn points.
Returns
Can I return my order if I redeemed Rewards points for a discount?
Yes. If you are returning the entire order, we will refund you the total dollar amount spent after the discount was applied. The points you used to redeem the discount will also be added back into your Rewards account.
I've earned points/VIP tier with my last purchase, but now I want to return it. What will happen to my Reward?
If you use your Rewards towards a purchase and later decide to return that item, your Rewards will be credited back to your Rewards account. For example, if you use a $10 coupon towards a $100 purchase that you decide to return, the $90 balance will be refunded on your credit card and the $10 Reward credit will be deposited back into your Rewards account.
Reward Expiration
Points expire after one year of inactivity
Your points will expire after one year of inactivity. Inactivity includes not interacting with our program i.e., redeeming points, placing an order or buying a MoMA membership. Visit My Account to check your status.
Points, Rewards and your VIP tier will expire if you fail to make at least 1 purchase every 12 months. In the event that our Rewards program ends, your points and perks will expire with the program. We also reserve the right to terminate any person’s Rewards if we believe they are violating our {{Link to your Terms and Conditions}}, reselling products, exploiting the program, making excessive returns, engaged in fraud, abuse of privileges or inappropriate behavior that seeks to manipulate the Rewards program, or for any other reason we deem necessary based on our sole discretion. If your account is terminated by you or us, or you opt-out of the Rewards program, you will lose any unused Rewards as well as all points that have not been redeemed.
VIP Program Questions
How is my Rewards status determined?
Your Rewards status is determined by the amount you spend in a rolling-year, a twelve month timeframe from when you enter a tier. Once you qualify, you will instantly move up and have access to that tier's perks for a 12-month period from the day you enroll. As you move up in the Rewards Tiers, you will retain all benefits from your previous tier.
How do I know which Rewards tier I am currently a member of?
When you are signed into your Rewards account, your home page will list all of the Rewards tiers. Your current tier and perks will be highlighted with a box around it.
What is Early Access to Select Products & Sales?
As a Connoisseur or Ambassador, you’ll be able to shop exciting new product launches, back in stock items & promotions before they’re released to our other customers.
What are Invitations to Special Events?
As an Ambassador, you’ll be able to attend invite-only events at the Museum, including exhibition opening parties, artist talks and more.
What is Priority Customer Service?
As an Ambassador, you’ll receive expedited service whenever you contact our customer service department, including being prioritized in call and email queues.
What are Double & Triple Point Days?
As a Connoisseur or Ambassador, you’ll earn double or triple points on purchases made on these days.
What is a Birthday Bonus?
Tell us your birthday and you’ll be awarded bonus Rewards points based on your status when the day arrives! Make sure you give us your birthday at least 30-days before your big day, that way we have enough time to process on our end.
What are Member Only Birthday Bonus?
MoMA Museum members receive an extra birthday bonus that will be rewarded on the day of their birthday. Tell us your birthday in your Rewards account to receive your bonus.
What are Member Only Triple point days?
MoMA Museum members receive exclusive triple point days twice per year.
How will I know when I have reached a new tier?
When your total points cross a tier threshold you will receive an email welcoming you into the new tier.
Tier Expiration
Once you are in Enthusiast, Connoisseur or Ambassador Tiers, you will be in that tier for a 12-month timeframe from the date you earned it. Make sure to keep interacting with our program to maintain your status (or even move up a tier)!
Troubleshooting
Why didn’t I earn points on my purchase?
Products that have been excluded from earning points. For example, Trade Program, Shipping & MoMA Employee. You also won’t receive points if you return your purchase or your purchase is canceled for any reason. Please note that any points you earn on a purchase you later return will be deducted from your point balance. Points may not be awarded at MoMA Design Store’s discretion (single campaigns, social follow, newsletter opt-in etc..)
I should have earned points for a purchase but I didn’t see my account balance change. Did I get credit?
You work hard to earn points and we want you to feel confident that all of your points are right where they should be . . . in your account! The first thing to note is that there may be a delay in our systems communicating and points could take anywhere from minutes to several hours to appear in your account. However, if you feel like you have earned points but they are not showing up in your account you can also troubleshoot it with these tricks:
- Try to refresh your browser.
- Try to log out and then back into your account.
If you still feel like your points balance is not accurate you can contact us and they will look into the issue for you.
I received an error message when referring friends through the email referral box. What went wrong?
We are sorry to hear that. There are a couple of scenarios that could have triggered the error message.
The first possible scenario is that there was a mistype in one of the email addresses that you entered or you forgot to put commas between multiple emails to separate them.
To eliminate confusion over what occurred, we recommend that you go back and enter each email address one at a time, clicking ‘send’ after each one rather than uploading them all at once.
If you are still having problems using the email referrals we recommend using your unique referral link or sharing the referral through Facebook, or Messenger to receive credit. Please contact us if you need further assistance.
I’ve referred several friends but haven’t received any points for it. Is there something else I need to do?
Thank you so much for sharing us with your friends! We really appreciate it.
Referred friends must be a first time customer in order for both of you to receive the referral Rewards. In addition, the referral must be initiated through our Rewards referral box on your personal Rewards page or through the use of your unique referral link also found there.
Points will be added to your account as soon as your friend completes their first purchase of over $100 on our website.
When this happens you will receive an email letting you know that one of your referrals made a purchase using your code and that a Reward was added to your account.
Birthday Reward
How can I get a birthday Reward?
Add your birthday under ways to earn points on your Rewards page. On your birthday we will send you a special discount code via email valid for 30 days from the date of your birthday!
*Your birthday code is non-transferable and may not be sold or assigned to anyone else. If we feel someone is trying to manipulate the program, we reserve the right to terminate their account at our discretion.
I signed up for the Birthday Bonus but I didn’t receive it?
Happy Birthday! We’re so glad that you have chosen to celebrate with us through our Rewards program. In order for you to receive your birthday bonus on your birthday, you must register your birthday at least 30 days prior to your birthday.
If your birthday falls between the day that you registered and the 30 day waiting period afterwards, you will receive your birthday bonus 30 days after your registration. This delay is only applicable for the first year that you signed up.
All successive birthday bonuses will be emailed to you on your birthday. If you register your birthday through your Rewards account any time after it has passed in the current calendar year, Rewards will not be added to your account until the day of your birthday in the following year.
Remember, the birthday Reward is determined by the Rewards program tier that you are part of on the date of your birthday. If it has been more than 30 days since you registered for your birthday Reward and you still have not received the additional points in your account, please contact us or call us at 1 (800) 851-4509, 9:30am - 5:00pm ET.
Checkout
How do I redeem my Rewards at checkout?
To redeem your points in checkout, use the drop down directly above your cart total to choose the amount you would like to apply, then click the "APPLY" button.
How do I redeem my Rewards points?
Rewards points can be redeemed during the checkout process. Before checking out, ensure that you are signed in to your account.
Once you get to the checkout screen you will see your total available Rewards points in a drop down above the total. To use your Rewards, click the drop down, select the number of points you would like to redeem on the order you are placing, then continue with the check out process.
You must have a minimum balance of at least 150+ points each time you would like to make a redemption, and points must be redeemed in increments of 50 ($5).
Your points may be redeemed up to 150 points below the total value of the cart, unless the total of your cart hits the 150 point ($5.00) threshold exactly. Because of this, almost all orders will have a balance between $1-$4.99 50-149 points that will need to be paid, in addition to any relevant tax and shipping charges, with your preferred method of payment.
What are the maximum points I can redeem for a coupon?
Maximum points you can redeem are 1,500, which equals $50 per order.
Why can’t I redeem Rewards points during a sale?
At this point you cannot redeem more than one promotional code in your cart on site. You can choose whether to redeem Rewards points or apply a promotional code.
